  • New Family Blog…

    Hello everyone!
Well, Xanga is dying dying dead, so…. we started a family blog. You can go there to see the latest updates and pictures of our life and our new son! I will probably not be updating this one (not that i ever update now).
Anyhow, my son is needing his mommy. TTFN

  • The pizza story….

Not only do I have a story… my husband thought quickly enough to grab the camera.
    Here goes…
So, it was two days before we were leaving to go to ME for Christmas and I was trying to get a ton of stuff done. Laundry, packing, cleaning, bake some cookies for the road, etc. I had some left over spaghetti sauce in the fridge that I wanted to use before we left so I decided to make a pizza for dinner. Here’s the thing, when I bake cookies, I always always burn a batch, but I didn’t on this magnificent Thursday! I was quite happy with myself (pride goes before the fall…). So, the cookies were done and I started the pizza. I was using a new recipe for the dough, cause I couldn’t find the one I normally use. The pizza turned out beautiful, I mean if you have ever seen a pretty pizza before, this was it! It was amazing (again pride goes before the fall…). I finished it and put it in the oven and Andre got home. I had the timer set so I wouldn’t burn it. We were talking about our day as we usually do. The timer went off and so I checked it (the whole while telling Andre to ‘look at this beautiful pizza I made’. The dough wasn’t quite done so, I went to push it back in… the oven rack caught… I pushed harder… the pizza pan slid to the back of the oven over the edge of the rack and tipped backwards. I stand there yelling as I have the edge of the pizza pan and my pizza is sliding right off of it into the bottom of the oven… upside down. Andre comes running to the rescue as I am saying “Help me! Help me!” He is like “what do you want me to do?” I said “I don’t know, but that is our dinner falling to the bottom of the oven!” There really wasn’t anything he could do. He grabbed some utensils and we were able to save about 4 pieces before they hit the bottom of the oven. I either had to laugh or cry. I think I did some of both, but it was mostly laughing. We then spent the next 20 min cleaning out the oven and laughing more. I had some stuff to make Fettucine Alfredo in the fridge so I made some of that to go with our couple of pieces of pizza and it all turned out fine. The next day as I was putting stuff away, I came across my to-do list and Andre had written at the bottom ‘make pizza memory’. It made me laugh. I put it in our keepsake folder. I am so glad my husband has such a sense of humor and helps me laugh at all the crazy things that happen in life!

  • Life:

So, I haven’t updated in a while… for those of you who still visit xanga and care. No, I still don’t have a facebook and I am not planning on getting one.

Back to the subject on hand :life: It is going well. (if I was really ornery  I would stop there, but I’m not ) Really, things are going great! I am loving being married! I have an incredible husband!!! Things are getting settled in here in our cute little apartment in Mechanicsville, VA (just a little north/east of Richmond) We like the area a lot. I am slowly but surely finding a place for all of our stuff. I am loving being a homemaker for the time being. It has been so much fun! I have had a quite a few cooking ‘experiments’, I think most of them turned out well (ask Andre to get the whole truth). The pizza incident…. lets not go there (if you really want to know, comment and I will tell the story on here, even if it is blackmail *sigh*). Anyhow, I am having a lot of fun!

Andre’s job is going well. He is working at UnveilinGlory   They have a deadline coming up, so he is really busy! He still loves it. He has an amazing boss and coworkers! God has truly blessed him with this job. Check out their Prayer to go website! There is a lot going on there for sure. It is a really neat ministry.

We spent Thanksgiving at home this year. We had Liz and her brother Matt over. It was a lot of fun! We cooked up an amazing Thanksgiving dinner, if I do say so myself!

We went to Maine for Christmas this year to see Andre’s family. It was really good to spend time with them. We had a great time in Maine! It was an adjustment to not be with my side of the family for Christmas (the first one away), but God is gracious. New time, new season. We did miss them all though. Hopefully, we will get to take a trip out this spring sometime.

We have found a church we like a lot. We are still kinda checking things out. It has been encouraging to be there.

Well, I guess that pretty much sums life up right now. I need to go get some laundry done.
We would love to hear from you!

  • NEWS! NEWS! NEWS!

    Hello Xanga Friends,
    Guess what?
    I’m ENGAGED!!!
    IMG_0808

Yup! That’s right – One week ago today Andre Fredette asked me to marry him and I said yes!
For all you ‘romantic at heart’  people out there – here is the story.
    So,
two weeks ago today Andre called my dad and asked for permission to
marry me (I didn’t know about this of course). The following Wednesday
we both flew into Richmond, VA to work at the Lamplighter Booth at the
HEAV convention. We were able to stay at the Shanks (some dear friends
of ours) during the convention (THANKS Y’ALL for your amazing
hospitality) We worked the convention Thurs- Sat. Sunday after church
we just went back to the house to relax. Monday, we decided to go to
    the beach

    IMG_0820

So, Lydia, Mrs. Shanks, Andre and I drove down to the beach, picking up
my dear friend Chelsea Miller on the way (Sam, her husband met us there
later). We dropped off Mrs. Shanks at her daughter’s house and then
went on to the beach. We had a great time just playing in the waves and
    laying in the sun.
After we were through and took everything back
to the car, Andre said he wanted to go walk on the beach. Everyone else
decided to go change while Andre and I went for a walk on the beach. He
started out by talking about how much we have grown in the last year,
in both our relationships with God and with each other. He then went on
to tell me how much he loves me. He stopped and faced me at this point,
then got down on one knee, with ring in hand (absolutely beautiful ring
i might add, I will post pics when I get some of it.) and asked me to
marry him. I think I said yes like 4 times.

Until I get a real picture of the ring I will leave you with this… hehehehe

We would appreciate any and all prayers as we continue on this journey.

  • New look to go with Spring What do you think? I think I like it…
(props to Andre for helping me get the picture faded around the edges!!!)

    On to other
things… Life is going well. Work is very busy, but good! The season
is going well. God is working on me… I have so many areas to grow in.

I miss Andre. It will have been a month since I saw him by the time I see him again. Yet, God’s strength is sufficient.

I miss my family. It has been since Christmas since I saw them. Yet, God’s strength is sufficient.

I was reminded by a friend (who was reminded by a friend) to be
thankful for the little things. Focus is so important. We need to
remember to praise God for everything. I have so many things to be
thankful for! I want to remember to praise God for all of them.
    Anyways… those are my thoughts.

  • hmmmmm…. good reminder.

    Lamentations 3:22-25
22Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed,

    Because His compassions fail not.
    23 They are new every morning;
    Great is Your faithfulness.
24 “The LORD is my portion,” says my soul,
    “Therefore I hope in Him!”
25 The LORD is good to those who wait for Him,
To the soul who seeks Him.

    yup. yup.
    the end.
