If I don’t get back on here to post again before Christmas…
Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!!
    God Bless!!!

  • Today’s agenda:

Clean and Decorate my house for Christmas and hopefully get some cooking and baking done…
    *Digging out that Christmas music*

  • Thanksgiving!!!

I had a wonderful Thanksgiving in Maine with Andre and his  family last week!!! It was a joy to meet and get to know his parents and his brother, Luke.  Thanks y’all  for the wonderful, unforgettable weekend!!! (I might post some pictures later )
I have so much to be thankful for!
*I have a Savior who loves and cares for me so much!!!
*I have a family who loves me very much!
*I have an amazing guy in my life!
*I have a wonderful best friend!
*I have some of the greatest friends a person could want!
*I have a great job, a good car and a nice warm place to live.
*I have a wonderful church family.
God has blessed me so much!!! I am so very thankful for all He has done for me. I am thankful for the trials this past year that have brought me closer to Him. Sometimes it is so easy to loose focus on what really matters in life. It is easy to look at the here and now and loose sight of the big picture. The big picture is: this is so much more than I deserve.  I miss all the little things in life because I am so consumed with all that is not going the way I think it should.

“Lord, forgive me for my ungratefulness. Forgive me for being so selfish and not completely focusing on You. Help me to stay focused on what is important. Thank you for all Your many blessings!!! I love you! In Jesus Name I pray, Amen”

Next item on agenda… the fall is over. I need something more Christmas-ish on my xanga.

    *edit*
It was so amazing to see Chelsea and Leah!!! I am so grateful for that special little extra!

  • Where do I start?

So… as of Friday, Oct 28th, 2006 my dad gave permission for Andre to start courting me! There are a lot more details on his site. I am so incredibly grateful that God has put such a Godly man in my life!!!
God is so good!!! Wow!!! We would appreciate your prayers as we venture into this new part of our lives. I guess you can say that I am on cloud nine!!!

    I love you, Andre!!!

  • New profile pic

Trouble, trouble and trouble? Not us…

  • Now is the test…

having to put that whole meditate over worry thing into practice.  It is always easier said then done…
Please pray for me this week. Thanks!

  • Is worry just a reality of life or is there a way not to worry?

That was the question on the top of the sermon notes I found Saturday morning as I was going through some stuff in my house, cleaning and putting away.

They were titled ‘You don’t have to worry! Matthew 6:25-34’.
    The date – April 2005.
    The minister – Ray Young
    1. You have to choose worry or meditation!
        a. Worry comes from fear of the unknown – it’s always negative
        b. How many of our worries are blown out of proportion and never happen?
        c. Meditation is remembering what God has promised!
        d. Meditation is remembering what God has done! (remember my post about Psalm 107? Think God is trying to tell me something? ;))
        e. Every good gift is from God! James 1
    2. Remember how much your Father loves you!
        a. What kind of Father is God?
            -God is good
-He knows what you need and what is best
-He is willing and able to provide
    3. The best cure for worry is FOCUS!
        a. A focus and a passion for the King and His Kingdom
        b. Keeping first things first
        c. A commitment to not worry
        d. Beyond commitment – God must be our burning desire
    —–

That hit a little close to home for me…then right after that I found a quote from a different Minister at a different time with some scripture next to it. God always seems to work that way. He is so faithful!!!

    Here was the quote:
“The secret to maintaining joy is remembering that God has a purpose. When things are not going the way I think they should, God is either working to change my circumstances or God is working to change me through my circumstances.”
I think that sometimes it is both at the same time.
    Romans 8:28 and Hebrews 12:1-2.

Not only are we not supposed to worry about our circumstances we are supposed to have joy because God does have a purpose! He commands us to not worry (Matt. 6:25-34) just like He commands us to not
steal, lie, murder etc. Yet we always seem to think that command is not
as important or at least I have.
    Wow. It was convicting!

I think I will choose meditation over worry, what about you?

PS. I will try to make my next post shorter… I see a pattern of long posts here. Sorry, my readers. I did want to share these thoughts though. Shorter one next time I promise!

  • Football in the South…

While in AL, I attended my first ever college football game with
Colton and Katelynn, Byron and Capers Whatley, LauraAnn, Daniel and
David Bond and Conner Knapp.  Now, I like football. It is great fun to
watch. In NM we went to high-school football games quite often, but I
had no idea what it was like to go to a college football game. It
was quite the experience! Auburn got creamed by Arkanas (which was
great fun to tease the Whatley’s about not that I did that, of
course. I think it was Byron who was threatening to give me four flat
tires on my car. ). Really though it was a lot of fun and a great
cultural experience. I also learned something… while at the game we
were quite a ways off the field and could not see details very well.
From where we were it looked like the refs made some really bad calls.
After we got home, we were talking to our parents about it (who stayed
in the nice cool house, on a nice comfortable couch and watched it on a
big TV and didn’t pay $4 for a bottle of water ) and they were
saying that they could see up close because the camera was there by the
field.  They told us that in reality all the calls made were legitimate
and that watching from different angles they could see it from a
different perspective than we could.  Even though we were there and
watching it live, they had a different angle. How many times do we jump
to conclusions before we really know what is going on? We think that we
can see clearly and make a judgement based on what we can see. I think
that a lot of times we need to step back and look at it from another
perspective and angle. My minister in the church where I grew up
preached a sermon once about dully-noting and  dismissing people. He
said that we will look at the appearance of someone or something they
are doing and dismiss them without another thought.  God calls us to
see the heart as Jesus did. Remember the story about the women who just
put two mites in (Mark 12:41-44), it was such a small amount, but Jesus
was looking at the heart. In the right perspective it was more than all
the others gold because it was all she had. To someone looking on it
might have seemed cheap, but to someone who knew the situation it was
far from cheap. Things are not always what they appear (I think that is
    a Bill Jack quote ).
I wish I had some pictures to show you, but all of us forgot to take a camera…

Here is one I found on the web.

It was a lot of fun. Thank you, Whatleys, for a great time and a great weekend!
